Gareth Bale is unlikely to feature for his country when they visit the Aviva Stadium in March next year for their crucial World Cup Qualifying clash against the Rep. of Ireland.

The Welsh attacking midfielder picked up an ankle injury with his club Real Madrid last week. Reports from the club say that after surgery, Bale is likely to be out until April 2017.

The Rep. of Ireland are top of Group D with 10pts while Wales are sitting in 3rd place with 6pts after 4 games played.

The fixture is set for March 24th 2017 at the Aviva
