Almost two-thirds of the country wants Michael D Higgins to serve a second term as President – without an election.
The results from a Behaviour & Attitudes survey for today’s Sunday Times show that 64% of people think he should continue unopposed in the Aras.
32% said no and just 4% don’t know.
