CABINET REMAIN BEHIND GARDA COMMISSIONER AFTER BRIEFING

Cabinet ministers have been briefed about the latest controversies facing Gardai.

Tánaiste and Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald has brought colleagues up to date on the problems with speeding convictions and breath test figures.

Housing Minister Simon Coveney told reporters he believes the Garda Commissioner’s position is still tenable.
