SHATTER THINKS ATTORNEY GENERAL SHOULD GO AFTER GARDA SCANDALS

The Attorney General’s position is untenable according to a former Minister for Justice.

Alan Shatter says the Fennelly report shows a substantial overreaction by AG Máire Whelan to reports of phone tapping by Gardaí.

He also says it vindicates his position and shows it was a mess up by Gardaí rather than a conspiracy.

Former Minister Alan Shatter says the report brings the future of the Attorney General into question.
