Davy Fitzgerald has confirmed that he’s going to stay on as Wexford Senior Hurling manager.
The Clare man took over the job last year and lead Wexford to promotion to Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling league as well as a Leinster final.
After Wexford’s quarter final defeat to neighbours Waterford, Fitzgerald took some personal time to sort out private matters before confirming to the Wexford county board that he would continue for the 2018 season.
His long commute from his base in County Clare has been well highlighted but it’s thought that it won’t bother him as he looks to bring Wexford further in the championship as well as establishing themselves in the league.
An official statement is due to be released confirming the news this afternoon.
