MORTGAGE GUIDELINES TO BE REVIEWED

The Central Bank is going to review its guidelines around mortgage arrears.

The Finance Minister asked them to review if they’re appropriate ahead of the sale of around 25,000 distressed mortgages by two major banks.

The government will also support aspects of Fianna Fáil’s bill to regulate vulture funds.

Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe says the laws in the past on vultures have been right, but they need to be assessed again.
