The Republic of Ireland have been drawn in Group D for the Euro 2016 Qualifying campaign.

They will go up against Germany, Poland, Scotland, Georgia and Gibraltar in a bid to reach the finals in France.

The draw took place in Nice this morning.

The fixture list has also been announced, with Ireland set to face Georgia away from home in the opening game of qualifying.

That game takes place on the 7th of September.

After that, Martin O’Neill’s side face Gibraltar at home, before an away trip to Germany on the 14th of October.

There’s a tough final two games in store in the qualifying group, as Ireland face Germany at home and Poland away.

Elsewhere, Northern Ireland face Euro 2004 champions Greece in Group F, as well as Hungary, Romania, Finland and the Faroe Islands.

The top two from each group are guaranteed automatic qualification for the finals.
