CHILD CARE COSTS COULD HARM RECOVERY – MINISTER
A cabinet minister has warned that the economic recovery could be held back by the high cost of childcare.
Frances Fitzgerald says childcare is one of the ways in which Ireland needs to become more competitive to allow the economy to prosper.
The Children’s minister is promising to rebuild investment in childcare funds, which she says was slashed under the last government.
And she says it’s important to make sure parents aren’t held back from jobs because of the cost of childcare.
