Taoiseach Says Decisions On Spending Or Taxes None Of Imf’s Business

TAOISEACH SAYS DECISIONS ON SPENDING OR TAXES NONE OF IMF’S BUSINESS

The Taoiseach says the International Monetary Fund needs to butt out regarding child benefit.

The IMF last night suggested in its end of mission assessment of the Irish bailout that some universal payments such as child benefit should be either means tested or taxed.

Enda Kenny has today promised further tax cuts in the next budget and says a further 90,000 people will be taken out of paying USC.

But he says when it comes to spending or taxes Ireland’s decisions are none of the IMF’s business.
