SPORT: FIFA DENY WRONGDOING OVER SOUTH AFRICAN FA PAYMENT TO CARIBBEAN COUNTRIES

FIFA have denied any wrong doing regarding payment made by the South African FA to Caribbean countries in 2007.

FIFA says a payment to Caribbean football Union in 2007 was part of a pre approved development grant while South Africa deny it was a bribe in order to secure the hosting of the 2010 World cup.

US prosecutors insist South Africa made the illegal payment after the government promised $10m to the FIFA vice President Jack Warner in exchange for votes in the World cup bidding process.

A letter has since been released detailing the payment from the South African FA to FIFA which was to be given to Jack Warner.
