Wexford is to be targetted as a constituency with a chance of deliverning two seats for Fianna Fail.
Party strategists are looking at three constituencies where they believe this can be done.
They’re Wexford Donegal and Cork North West.
They are are also targeting Waterford and Dublin Bay South, where there is a chance of one seat.
Canvassing by the party is to be stepped up in the remaining days of the campaign in the five constituencies.
Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin believes Wexford can deliver two seats;
“The feedback we are getting is very strong on the candidates and the candidates have reported a very warm reception, a lot of engagement, so we were, we’re fighting hard to win a second seat here and…we believe we have a very good competitive chance…of winning that second seat” he said.
“…and as I say in terms of James, Aoife and Malcolm I think we have first class candidates and they’re all out working extremely hard” he added.
