IRELAND MORE PREPARED FOR AN ATTACK THAN EVER BEFORE – COVENENY

The Minister for Foreign Affairs says Ireland is better prepared than we’ve ever been for a terrorist attack.

The Gardai and defence forces have held simulated attacks in recent weeks to train themselves in the event of an attack.

It follows the news that 13 people died in Barcelona when a man drove a van into a crowded street.

Simon Coveney says while we need to remain vigilant – the risk of an attack remains possible – but not likely.
