Cancellations And Updates For Sunday 4th March In Co. Wexford

The very latest closures and cancellations are below:


Grantstown Day Care Centre will remain closed on Monday but will reopen as normal on Tuesday.

Templeshannon Community & Childcare Centre, The Shannon, Enniscorthy will remain closed for the rest of the week.

The Gorey District Court has been adjourned to Wexford District Court, Belvedere Road, Wexford on Monday 5th March.

New Ross Day Care centre will be opened again on Monday weather permitting.

All Pettitt’s Supervalu Stores (except for Arklow) will open at 10am on Sunday

FAB Community and Family Resource Centre/FAB Huggie Bears childcare service in Coolcotts will be closed until Monday

The Wexford special Olympics Sports Club draw is rescheduled for March 10th in Wexford Golf Club

St. Patrick’s Penny Bank at the IFA Centre in Enniscorthy will reopen on Friday the 9th of March from 7.30pm to 9pm

The St. John’s Day Care Centre AA Group Meeting will now take place on Friday 9th of March.

The Wexford South Semi Final of Wexford LGFA All Stars will now take place on Friday 23rd of March in the Horse and Hound in Ballinaboola.

The Country Music Weekend at Clayton Whites Hotel in Wexford Town has been cancelled on Sunday.

Dun Mhuire Bingo in Wexford Town is cancelled this Sunday.

The Wexford District GAA Annual Club Person of the Year Awards due to take place in the Riverbank House Hotel on Saturday night have been postponed.

The Confirmation in St. Aidan’s Cathedral has been cancelled and a new date will be decided next week.

Wexford Indoor Market Clonard will be closed this weekend but open next weekend as normal

The Irish National Heritage Park, Ferrycarrig, Wexford will remain closed until Monday 5th March

Local Link Wexford Bus services will not operate on Saturday.  Sunday services will be reviewed later.

The JFK Arboretum in New Ross will remain closed for the weekend

Lake Region Medical in New Ross is officially reopened from 10am Sunday morning.

St Aidan’s  Milland’s Gorey Day Services and also its Respite Services will remain closed on Monday

Whitfield in Waterford will be open for patients as normal on Monday.  All services will resume

Bree Renewal Village Scheme Open Meeting due to be held in Bree Community Centre is cancelled on Monday night

All Sales in New Ross Marts are cancelled on Monday

Events Cancelled:

Marshalstown bingo will resume on the 8th March.

Wexford Naturalists’ Field Club’s March lecture “100 Years of Bat Research in Ireland” has been rescheduled to the Pumphouse at Wexford Wildfowl Reserve at 8pm on Thursday 8th March 2018.

MS South Wexford Branch has cancelled all physiotherapy and yoga classes for members in Wexford Town and Ramsgrange this week.  The AGM which was due to take place this Sunday 4th March in the Riverbank Hotel, Wexford, has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled.

‘Terra Nostra’: Perspectives on Landscapes, exhibition will now be officially opened on Friday 9th March at 6pm in Wexford County Council’s Offices.

The Redmond Commemorative events scheduled for Sunday in Wexford Town Library and St. John’s graveyard have been postponed.

The Christy Moore Concert in the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy will now take place on the new date of Wednesday 27th June.  The tickets will be valid for the new date or you can obtain a full refund from your point of purchase.

Ferns Heritage Action Group’s talk by Dr. Kevin Whelan has been postponed until Thursday 22nd March in Ferns National School at 7.30pm

The GAA has confirmed that all Allianz Football and Hurling League Fixtures schedule for this weekend have been postponed.  Wexford’s Round 5 games in the Hurling and Football League will now take place on the 10th & 11th of March

The New Ross Active Retirement meeting will now be held on the 9th of March

Cushinstown Parish Bingo due to be held in the Horse and Hound in Ballinaboola on Sunday has been cancelled.  The next monthly bingo will take place on the 1st of April.

Saturday Night at the Parkview House in Shillelagh is cancelled.

Flowers for Magdalene’s due to take place in New Ross on Sunday at 2pm has now been postponed.

The proposed children’s tournament due to take place at Gorey Tennis Club this Sunday has been postponed and will take place on Sunday 11th of March

The AGM for Friends of Local People with Multiple Sclerosis North Wexford/South Wicklow is cancelled for this Sunday 4th March and will be rearranged for a further date.

Caroreigh Vehicle run planned for Sunday in Camross is cancelled

The Chapter 9 Credit Union Schools Table Quiz Finals due to take place in the Ashdown Park Hotel Gorey on Sunday has been cancelled.  The quiz will be rescheduled and all schools will be notified of the new date.

The following Masses have been cancelled this weekend:  10am Mass at Bride Street Church in Wexford Town

All masses in Curracloe have been cancelled this weekend.  There will be a funeral mass in Screen on Sunday at 11.30am

There will be no masses in Craanford this weekend.

All masses are going ahead as normal at St. Aidan’s Cathedral in Enniscorthy.  There will be very little parking around the Cathedral due to snow accumulations

All Church Services in the Gorey Group of Parishes (Church of Ireland) have been cancelled for Sunday March 4th due to the severe weather conditions

There will be only ONE Mass each in Wexford Parish and Clonard Parish this weekend.  It will take place at 11am on Sunday in Bride St Church and 11.30am in Clonard Church.  The car parks will not be available, so please come on foot. All other Saturday and Sunday services are cancelled in Clonard, Bride St and Rose St.  Mass will take place in the Friary at 10.45am on Sunday

There will be only be ONE Mass in Kilmore Parish this weekend.  It will take place at 11am on Sunday in Mulrankin Church.  All other Saturday and Sunday masses are cancelled in Tomhaggard, Kilmore and  Kilmore Quay.

Dancing in The Talbot Hotel on Sunday night is cancelled
