Interesting facts have emerged in relation to marriages in County Wexford.
That’s according to latest statistics from the CSO.
Last year in County Wexford 778 opposite sex couples tied the knot.
The average age of the groom was 36.8 years while the average age of the bride was 35.9 years a huge change in a generation
Last year just 13 men and 26 women in County Wexford got married in the 20-24 year age bracket.
Just over 50% of the weddings were Catholic Church weddings while over 25% were civil ceremonies
The remainder were quarter were either spiritualist humanist Church of Ireland and Presbyterian ceremonies.
In Wexford in 2017 there were 22 same sex marriages just over a year after Same Sex Marriage became legal in October 2015
In 2016, the latest years figures are available, 77 couples got divorced in County Wexford.
