Aleppo Under Bombardment Again

The besieged Syrian city of Aleppo is coming under heavy fire for a fifth day running. Dozens of people – including children – have been killed in rebel held areas. The fatalities happened in a wave of air strikes, barrel bombs and intense artillery fire. The medical charity MSF says hospitals have been targetted in the shelling. The United Nations is warning that people living in Aleppo now have no food or medical supplies left. Meantime – the Irish Anti-War Movement is holding a peace march between the Russian and U.S. Embassies today to highlight the intense suffering of the people caught up in the conflict. The organisation says the war has created the worst humanitarian crisis of our time and is calling for a permanent cessation to the bombing in Syria.
