Impact Says There Are Still Concerns Over Aer Lingus Sale

IMPACT SAYS THERE ARE STILL CONCERNS OVER AER LINGUS SALE

IMPACT’s concerns over the possible sale of the government stake in Aer Lingus will be discussed as the union holds two conferences in Galway this week.

The trade union is concerned at implications for jobs, business and tourism, if the sale to IAG goes ahead.

IMPACT is holding two conferences in Galway this week with a final joint convention on Friday, where the Aer Lingus sale is on the agenda.

The union’s communications executive, Helena Clarke, says their concerns have not been addressed.

“So we still would have a number of concerns that we feel have not yet been dealt with” she said.

“They would be around jobs, they would be around the effect on business – so we would very much so feel that it should stay within State ownership” she added.
