Monthly Rise But Yearly Drop In Those On The Live Register In The South East

MONTHLY RISE BUT YEARLY DROP IN THOSE ON THE LIVE REGISTER IN THE SOUTH EAST

There’s once again been an increase in the numbers on the live register in the South East.

The monthly rise of 1.4 per cent is in contrast with a yearly decrease of 8.2 per cent.

The latest statistics from the Central Statistics Office for July show there were 737 more people on the live register in the South East when compared with the figures for June.

That’s a 1.4 per cent increase bringing the number in the region signing on to 53,159.

However there’s been a yearly fall.

In July 2013 57,921 people were on the live register in the South East, an 8.2 per cent drop in those now signing on.

Meanwhile nationally there was a slight drop of 3,400 people on the register this month when compared with june.

There were 382,800 people signing on this month across the country – when seasonal factors are taken onboard.

That’s a drop of over 36,000 people on last year’s figure.
