Nursing Homes Could Ease Hospital Bed Crisis

Nursing Homes are appealing to the Department of Health to let them help ease hospital overcrowding. The body that represents facilities across the country says they’ve 1,000 beds lying empty – that could be used to alleviate pressure. It comes as the numbers waiting on trolleys surge – with nurses saying 488 people were in need of a bed yesterday alone.
