Wexford Voters Go To The Polls

WEXFORD VOTERS GO TO THE POLLS

Voting has opened in the general election to decide on the make up of the 32nd Dail.

552 candidates are running to fill 158 seats in Leinster House.

In Wexford, five TDs will be elected with 17 candidates vying for a seat in the Dail.

Amoung those standing are three current TDs and one senator.

Many of the polling stations across the county are reporting above average numbers for this time of the day.

Meanwhile nationally, one TD has already been deemed elected.

The Ceann Comhairle Sean Barrett is automatically returned – a reward for refereeing proceedings over the last 5 years.

Voters are reminded to bring photo ID with them to polling stations.
