Wexford Jobs Market Poised for 4% Growth in 2026

After a tough year for the Irish jobs market in 2025, Wexford is set to see a rebound, with job openings expected to increase by 4% in 2026.

The recovery comes after a nationwide decline of 17% in advertised job vacancies, driven by rising employment costs and global uncertainties, including the impact of US tariffs.

While 2025 saw sectors like accounting and agri-food hit hardest, businesses are now optimistic, focusing on automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as solutions to manage costs and fill positions. This shift toward technology investment is expected to shape hiring trends in 2026, with more businesses offering opportunities in sectors that faced slowdowns last year.

The forecasted recovery is seen as a positive sign for Wexford, where companies are preparing to meet growing demand. The growth comes as a result of improved economic outlooks and as Ireland’s economy continues to expand, competition for talent is expected to intensify.

The report, which was part of FRS Recruitment’s 2025 Review & 2026 Trends Forecast, indicates that Wexford’s job market is ready for a strong revival.

FRS Recruitment predicts that the increased stability and business investment will continue to fuel this positive trend throughout the year.
