Howlin says there should be no delays in salary transparency
The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform says anyone in receipt of public money should have their salary published. Brendan Howlin was speaking on his way into this morning's Cabinet meeting after it was revealed that Rehab CEO Angela Kerins is paid an annual salary of 240,000 euro. Her pay deal also includes a pension contribution and use of a company car. Management does not intend to publish details of other top level remuneration until 2016. But Minister Howlin says that information should be made public. "Everybody, every State organisation that is in receipt of public monies should be very transparent in the amount of pay it gives to all its employees" he said. "That should be a matter of course from now on so that there should be no requirement for weeks of delay in these matters". "I think that's the way things are happening now" he added.
