Wexford Tidy Towns to Host Free Bat Walk This Wednesday

Wexford Tidy Towns is encouraging people to discover and protect the natural environment through a series of community-led biodiversity projects.

As part of that work, the group is hosting a free bat walk this Wednesday, September 16th, giving families and nature lovers the chance to explore the bats and wildlife living in and around Wexford town.

The walk gets underway at 7.30pm and will offer an opportunity to learn more about the bats that live alongside us and the important role they play in the local ecosystem.

Wexford Tidy Towns is also involved in the Edible Wexford Community Garden Project, which encourages people to grow food locally while creating greener and more wildlife-friendly spaces.

The project shows how community gardens can benefit both people and nature, providing spaces for growing fruit, vegetables and herbs while also creating habitats for pollinators and other wildlife.

The wider aim is to make Wexford a greener and more biodiverse place, while encouraging local people to get involved in practical environmental projects.
