Enniscorthy Credit Union is proud to announce its continued sponsorship of the annual “Hope & Dream 10” fundraising event for the Hope Cancer Support Centre in Enniscorthy. This long-standing partnership was highlighted this week with a cheque presentation by the Credit Union to Andrea Hamilton and Denise McDonald from the Hope Cancer Support Centre, as part of their ongoing commitment to the cause.
The presentation took place at the Abbey Square office of Enniscorthy Credit Union, where staff gathered to support the initiative. Each member wore this year’s iconic Hope & Dream t-shirts, symbolizing the collective effort and spirit of community that surrounds the event. The event has become a central part of Enniscorthy’s annual calendar, and this year marks the 15th time the streets of the town will be filled with colour and energy for the 10k walk or run.
The Hope & Dream 10 is more than just a fundraiser; it is a powerful symbol of support for those diagnosed with cancer. The funds raised help the Hope Cancer Support Centre provide a range of vital services for cancer patients and their families, helping them navigate the challenges of their diagnosis with much-needed care and support.
Marketing Officer of Enniscorthy Credit Union, Joleen Murphy, expressed her pride in the Credit Union’s involvement, saying, “We were honoured to welcome Andrea and Denise this week to present the cheque with our staff. This is a calendar highlight for us as staff members and is an honour to be part of. The opportunity to help raise awareness by wearing the t-shirts is a simple but really engaging way for us to show support for the Hope Cancer Support Centre, our members, and the local community and beyond.”
She continued, “Enniscorthy Credit Union is a long-standing sponsor of the event, and our board, volunteers, management, and staff are all honoured to continue supporting this vital local service."
The Hope & Dream 10 has grown year after year, with participants from across the county and beyond coming together to walk, run, and raise funds for the cause. This year’s event is set for Sunday, April 12th, and registration is still open.
