brolly calls for overhaul of gaa calendar
Former All Ireland winner Joe Brolly has called for a radical overhaul of the GAA calendar. The out-spoken pundit has hit-out at the demands being placed on modern inter-county footballers, which is also having a knock-on effect on club players. Brolly is calling for the pre-season inter-county tournaments to be scrapped and for the National League to begin in January instead. He wants the inter-county calendar to be wrapped-up by mid-summer, which would allow plenty of time for county boards to complete their club championships.
