Two Wexford Players Named On Six Nations Ireland Squad

Head Coach Scott Bemand has unveiled a 36-player squad for the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations, sponsored by Aon. Erin King will captain the team as they prepare to kick off their campaign against England on Saturday, 11 April at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham (Kick-off 2.45pm).

The squad, revealed today at Aon Ireland HQ, includes nine uncapped players, notably forwards Beth Buttimer, Jemima Adams Verling, and Eilís Cahill, alongside backs Alana McInerney, Caitríona Finn, Niamh Gallagher and Wexford's Robyn O’Connor—most of whom recently impressed in the Celtic Challenge.

Enniscorthys Aoife Wafer is also named on the team

After a productive three-day camp in January, the squad is ready to build on last year’s Rugby World Cup momentum. Bemand spoke about the team’s determination, saying, “We have a number of exciting opportunities ahead, and there’s a real sense of belief and purpose within the group to continue the hard work and progress our game forward.”

Peter Brady, Head of Risk Capital at Aon, added, “As proud partners of the Ireland Women’s team since 2014, we wish Scott, Erin, and the squad every success in the Championship and look forward to supporting them every step of the way.”
