Wexford Football Secures Promotion and Gears Up for League Final

It was an unforgettable day for Wexford football as the senior team secured promotion to Division 2 with a thrilling last-minute victory over Westmeath. Seán Ryan's dramatic goal, scored just seconds before the final whistle, sealed the win and sparked scenes of celebration that will be remembered for years to come.

The victory also means Wexford now heads to the Division 3 League Final against Down, set to take place at Croke Park next Saturday, March 28, at 7:15 p.m. The Division 4 Final between Longford and Carlow will kick off at 5 p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase later today online and in participating SuperValu & Centra stores. Please note that tickets are required for U16s.

In hurling, Wexford’s senior team wrapped up their League campaign with a dominant 3-29 to 1-14 win over Kildare. The two teams will meet again in the first round of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship on April 18.

This week, Wexford's Minor and U20 footballers also begin their championship campaigns. The Minors face Wicklow in Chadwicks Wexford Park on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., while the U20s take on Dublin at the same venue on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for all Leinster Minor & U20 championship matches must be purchased online via the Leinster GAA ticketing portal.

Wishing all our teams the best of luck in their upcoming games!
