250 new jobs for galway
A health care company is set to create 250 new jobs in Co Galway. Zimmer plans to fill the positions - over the next give years - at its facility in Oranmore. The recruitment process, will begin in the coming months, to fill posts in sales and marketing and manufacturing. The company, which established a manufacturing facility in Shannon in 2007, currently employs 330 people. Martin Shanahan, the CEO of IDA Ireland, says the announcement is a vote of confidence in Galway. "250 jobs in Oranmore from Zimmer manufacturing medical devices - this is on top of the 330 jobs they already have in Shannon" he said. "They're based in Shannon since 2007". "An excellent result obviously for Oranmore and for Galway" he added.
