The H1N1 virus continues to be responsible for the hospitalisation of up five patients at Wexford General Hospital. Three people are confirmed to have the virus while the results of tests on two more are expected. The virus, also known as swine flu, is now being transmitted from human to human. When first identified in 2009 it turned into a pandemic and effected millions worldwide. Now the WHO says the H1N1 circulates as an annual flu virus and the seasonal flu vaccine provides protection against it.
