A lot of lonely people

There are more than 100 thousand older people who are lonely in Ireland.

Experts warn loneliness can be just as dangerous for your health as smoking or drinking alcohol. The charity ALONE is urging people to check in on their elderly neighbours and relatives this Christmas.
