The Wexford Normandy Cultural Association is bringing a taste of medieval Wexford to life with A Taste of Norman Wexford, taking place in Gorey on October 13th.
The event will explore the influence the Normans had on Wexford’s food, culture and culinary traditions, with guests getting the chance to sample medieval-inspired dishes including pottage, gammon pie and Tartys in Aplis – an early form of apple tart.
The event is part of a programme of activities leading towards the 2027 European Year of the Normans, celebrating the Norman heritage and its lasting influence across Europe.
