A homeless services official is coming under fire for controversial comments about rough sleepers.
The director of the Dublin Region Homeless Executive has been questioning the value of "ad hoc" groups that give out food and tents. Eileen Gleeson says it doesn't help in the long run because it takes years to solve "bad behaviour". And she says people sleeping on the banks of the Royal Canal are reluctant to engage with services.
