Another Major High Street Closure in Wexford Town

Another big high street retailer on Wexford Town's main street is to close its doors. Claire's is set to close 145 stores across the UK and Ireland including it's store on the main street in wexford after a rescue deal saved only half of the company’s operations. A number of jobs will be lost in Wexford and nationally as 20 stores will be closing permanently putting around 1,000 jobs at risk. Other affected stores in Ireland include branches in Killarney, Cork, Limerick, Dublin, Mullingar, Drogheda, Bray, and more. The closures come after Claire's entered administration following financial difficulties, with the company filing for bankruptcy in the U.S. The majority of Claire’s UK business was saved by investment firm Modella Capital, which now owns the brand, ensuring the remaining stores continue to operate.Clearance sales are already underway at some of the impacted outlets, with final closure dates varying by location.
