Bluebird Care is bringing a groundbreaking immersive experience to Wexford with the launch of its Immersive Experience Bus on Monday, October 20th. The bus, which will travel nationwide as part of a roadshow, focuses on Complex Care and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), offering visitors a hands-on experience of the challenges faced by individuals with ASD in everyday environments. The mobile, interactive bus uses virtual reality, sound and sensory technology to simulate how typical surroundings can feel for someone with autism. The aim is to foster a deeper understanding of how sensory and environmental factors—like noise, glare and clutter—can be overwhelming for those living with ASD or complex care needs particularly as they age. This initiative is part of Bluebird Care’s commitment to turning awareness into action. By showcasing simple adjustments that can reduce anxiety and support independence, the experience helps families, carers, and professionals see how small changes can significantly improve quality of life. Adding a special touch to the day, RTÉ broadcaster and GAA commentator Marty Morrissey, will make a guest appearance in Wexford to officially open the roadshow. Known for his connection to communities, Marty will tour the immersive bus meet local families and help spread Bluebird Care's message of empathy, inclusion and support. “We’re committed to helping people live well at home,” said Mark McInerney, Chief Operating Officer of Bluebird Care. “This immersive experience brings understanding to life in a way that’s truly impactful. It deepens empathy and shows how small adjustments can make a big difference.” The event is free and open to the public throughout the day, and Bluebird Care’s team will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about services available for families, educators, and professionals in Wexford.
