By-election after t.d. resigns over 'inappropriate behaviour'
A by-election will take place in Dublin West, after the shock resignation of Independent TD Patrick Nulty. The 31 year old resigned with immediate effect last night, after he admitted sending inappropriate messages via Facebook, including to a schoolgirl. In his resignation statement, Mr Nulty said he had failed to meet the standards he holds for himself - personally and politically. The Government has six months to hold a by-election, but it's likely to coincide with the Local and European elections on May 23rd.
