A plan to break up the HSE into six regional healthcare divisions is set to be approved by Cabinet this morning.
Under the Sláintecare plan, each would get a budget based on population. The Health Services Executive was set up in 2005, taking over from ten local health boards in a bid to cut down on duplication of services.
