Calls for government action on drugs

There's a call for a senior cabinet minister to take responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy.

It's after the government was accused of failing to tackle a rise in drug overdose related deaths and increased violence in communities. The country's former drugs ministers are warning the current approach is danger of collapsing. They want millions of euro to be provided to local task forces after years of cutbacks.
