CARLOS THE JACKAL TO BE TRIED ON FRESH CHARGES The Venezuelan terrorist who became known as Carlos the Jackal after attacks in the 1970's and 80's is to go on trial again tomorrow. Ilyich Ramirez Sanchez is already serving a life sentence for the murders of two policemen in Paris and four bombings. He faces three judges for a grenade attack on a Paris shop in 1974 which killed two men and injured 34 others.
