Former President Mary McAleese has called for women to be ordained in the Catholic Church.
She was speaking ahead of a conference in Rome to mark International Women's Day. The 'Voices of Faith' conference on Catholic women's rights is calling for women to be included in decision making within the church. Mary McAleese says it should go one step further and allow women to become priests.
