Co. wexford in top 5 in the country when it comes to using wind energy
County Wexford is one of the top five counties in the country when it comes to the utilisation of wind energy. A study carried out on behalf of the Irish Wind Energy Association shows Wexford is generating 176 megawatts of power from wind every year. This is evidenced by the number of wind farms in the county set up in recent years. Cork and Donegal lead the country in the production of wind energy and are followed by Kerry, Tipperary and Wexford. Other counties in the South East region produce around one tenth of wind generated electricty when compared to what's produced in County Wexford.
