A female member of a Coastguard crew has died during a search operation off the Clare coast this afternoon.
The crew was carrying out a search for a missing person near cliffs at Kilkee. The rib is believed to have overturned near the cliffs in adverse weather condition at a 1.45pm today. Two other coast guards were involved in the accident, one was recovered immediately, but the third some time later.
