Former Wexford hurler Paul Codd appeared before the High Court yesterday after he was arrested for failing to co-operate with bankruptcy proceedings against him. The Court was told he has now promised to fully co-operate in the future. The former Wexford Hurling captain was arrested on Saturday at his home on foot of a warrant issued on the 14th of October for failing to co-operate with the official assignee in bankruptcy regarding his assets and liabilities. Mr Codd told Mr Justice Kevin Cross in the High Court that he was now prepared to co-operate with Mr Chris Lehane - the court-appointed official whose role it is to assist bankrupts in their obligations to their creditors - "to the best of my ability." He was then allowed to return to his family yesterday after spending the weekend in Mountjoy Prison. Last March the 37 year-old was adjudicated bankrupt by the High Court arising from his failure to satisfy a judgment secured against him in 2011 for €530,000. The matter was adjourned until the 20th of January. Mr Codd's debts, combined with those of his now dissolved company, Paul Codd Ltd, are estimated to be €4.9 million.
