Cllr Jim Codd has raised urgent concerns regarding the potential redundancies at Pinergy’s Enniscorthy facility, following multiple reports from employees facing uncertain job futures. Speaking to South East Radio News, Cllr Codd revealed that he had received numerous calls from workers who are worried about their livelihoods, particularly as the winter season approaches. Many of these employees are already struggling with the rising cost of living and the possibility of redundancy during this challenging time has left them in a state of heightened anxiety. The councillor is calling on Pinergy to provide immediate clarity on the situation. In particular, Cllr Codd is requesting details on what redundancy packages may be available for affected employees, as well as whether there are any opportunities for workers to be transferred to other roles within the company. With Christmas on the horizon and many families facing financial pressures, Cllr Codd emphasized the importance of giving staff enough notice and information to help them plan for the difficult months ahead. “It’s a very, very frightening time for people trying to pay mortgages and manage rising living costs,” Cllr Codd said. “The uncertainty over their jobs couldn’t have come at a worse time. People deserve to know what their options are and they need answers from Pinergy so they can make informed decisions about their futures.” South East Radio News received the following statement from the company: Pinergy is reviewing its solar operations and how we can best serve our solar customers. We are strongly committed to continuing to play a key role in the Irish solar sector from our base in Enniscorthy, County Wexford. We are currently in consultation with our staff at our solar division regarding our future plans. As this is an ongoing process, we have no further comment to make at this time.
