Dairy cow numbers expected to increase significantly as milk quota comes to an end

This is due to the ending of the farm milk quota system on Wednesday after over thirty years in operation. Farmers can now supply unlimited amounts of milk but the number of dairy farmers is set to continue to fall. The number of dairy farmers in County Wexford now stands at 764 with further expansion amongst those expected.
