Derek brockwell recovering in hospital following arrest
Convicted Criminal Derek Brockwell is recovering in Hospital in Belfast after he was arrested by PSNI officers yesterday. Brockwell was on the run after he stabbed two prison officers and escaped from custody. The 53-year-old was being taken to Tallaght hospital on Tuesday when he made his violent escape. That sparked an international manhunt, but the serial criminal was seen outside a bar on the Dublin Road at half-seven last night. Brockwell stabbed himself in the stomach when he was approached by police. Officers tasered him, before he was taken to hospital for treatment. Brockwell, who's serving seven years at Portlaoise jail for armed robberies in Dublin, was later arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
