Wexford County Council officials are set to review the traffic management around roadworks on Gorey's Esmonde Street.
Currently, a one way system is in place taking cars from the Main Street out of town in a bid to alleviate traffic disruption.
However, yesterday's meeting of the Gorey Kilmuckridge Municipal District heard from local councillors expressing their frustration at what they felt were efforts to take business away from the area.
The one way system was brought in recently following complaints about a Stop Go process that was leading to long delays at both ends of the town.
Members of the council's Special Projects team say they will look at the possibility of reversing the direction of the one way system and see if that helps the situation.
Councillors also heard the Uisce Eireann works are around 80% complete while the ESB are around half way done with their repairs in the area.
The works are expected to stop for a Christmas break around the 18th of December but officials say it's likely the one way system will remain.
When pressed by councillors to resume two way traffic until the end of the year, officials said it wouldn't make sense to abandon the one way system only to re-instate it a week or two later.
That report was funded by the Local Democracy Reporting Scheme.
