Dis-used power lines proposed to be used as part of eirgrid gridlink project
A former ESB worker says there is nothing to stop Eirgrid updating dis-used lines already in place which run from County Kildare to Great Island in Wexford. Dave Bernie says there are a number of lines which could be used by the company for it's new high voltage power line linking Cork to Kildare through Wexford. He says one of these is the line running from Dunnestown in Kilcullen to Great Island which could be upgraded and run underground instead of building a new corridor.
