20 shops and businesses in Enniscorthy have been spruced up thanks to some council schemes.
Over €4,600 was handed out as part of the Enniscorthy Municipal District's Shopfront Paint & Flower Grant programmes.
The funding was used by the successful property owners to freshen up their business fronts with new paint and accessories.
The maximum grant available for the Shopfront Painting Scheme was €300 per applicant while up to 500 euro is available for those eligible for the Shopfront Awning Grant Scheme.
Wexford County Council says this type of scheme can bring many social and environmental benefits to towns and villages.
These schemes will accept new applicants in early 2027 and shopowners are asked to keep an eye out for the next round of funding.
Applications are invited from commercial properties from Enniscorthy town along with more rural areas such as Ballindaggin, Bree, Bunclody, Davidstown, Ferns and Kiltealy.
Applications will also be considered for painting of residential premises above shops in Enniscorthy, Bunclody and Ferns.
Full details and application forms will be available from the Wexford County Council website once the scheme goes live or you can get them in person from the Enniscorthy Municipal District office.
That report was funded by the Local Democracy Reporting Scheme.
