Enniscorthy Gardaí Issue Witness Appeal, As Woman (70s) Dies Following Three-Car Collision In Clonroche

A woman in her 70s has died following a three-car road traffic collision in Clonroche, this afternoon (Friday).

The collision occurred shortly after 2.40pm on the N30 at Ballymackesy, Clonroche, when Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene.

The woman, who was driving one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her remains have since been removed to the mortuary at Waterford University Hospital.

The driver and sole occupant of a second car, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The occupants of the third vehicle did not require immediate hospital treatment.

The N30 remains closed to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.

The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or road users who were travelling in the area at the time and may have dash-cam or other camera footage, is asked to make the footage available to investigating Gardaí.
