Esb strike is averted
Businesses and homes across County Wexford won't face electricty blackouts for Christmas. A planned strike by ESB workers has been averted after the two sides reached agreement at the Labour Relations Commission. The row centred on a one point six billion euro deficit in the company's pension fund. The ESB says there will be no effect on the company's balance sheet as a result of the settlement - but unions say that's not the case. Business groups are welcoming the agreement.
