Filming of 'brooklyn' in enniscorthy starts monday
Traffic restrictions and diversions will be in operation in Enniscorthy next week to facilitate the shooting of a film. The film is an adaptation of local author Colm Toibin's novel Brooklyn, and will include around three hundred local people working as extras on the production, which stars Siorse Ronan and Domhail Gleeson. The area in and around Castle Street will be one of the busier locations as it is transformed into a 1950s rural streetscape. The filiming will then move midweek to the Friary Hill/Court Street junction and the John's Street area. Other locations set to be used in the next couple of weeks of shooting include Crosstown Cemetary in Wexford, Curracloe Beach Tagoat Church before returning for final scenes in Castle Street in Enniscorthy.
